Research: Accessibility in Finnish E-Commerce

Supervisor.com conducted a detailed accessibility audit of 450 Finnish e-commerce websites under accessibility regulations. We verified from public sources that their yearly revenue exceeded the 2 MEUR barrier and that the audited websites served consumers. The EAA does not currently regulate B2B websites.

GEO Optimization and Accessibility

Accessibility and GEO are not competing priorities. They are complementary investments with the same foundation: making content understandable to non-visual agents, whether screen readers or large language models.Businesses that recognize this can build on the accessibility work they've already done, and the compliance monitoring they already have in place, to capture visibility in both traditional and AI-powered search. That beats treating AI optimization as a separate cost center.

WCAG 2.1 Guidelines

The EU Accessibility Act (EAA) and WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) are interconnected because WCAG 2.1 provides a robust and widely accepted framework for ensuring digital accessibility, which aligns closely with the objectives of the EAA.
